Australia manages to maintain the series score

In the Australia tour of India 2017, the third test match conducted at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi took an unexpected turn. Well, the match was turning at every ball since day one. After team Australia won the toss and decided to bat, it was unsure about which team will win the game.

Since the pitch at Ranchi is favorable for batsmen, Australia decided to bat first. The batting line tumbled at beginning. But Steven Smith played his captain’s innings. His 178 not out, along with lower order Glenn Maxwell’s 104, helped team Australia to build a score of 451 on day 2 of the Test. Ravindra Jadeja did a fantastic job by sending half of the team back to pavilion.

It was time for Indian batsmen to show their skills. Even though Murli Vijay (82) and Lokesh Rahul (67) gave a good start to the team, the remaining batsmen did not go well after their dismissals. Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Karun Nair, and R Ashwin were not able to score. On the other side, Cheteshwar Pujara was intact in his place. It was the partnership between him and Wriddhiman Saha that led team India to stand on its feet. Pujara’s 202 and Saha’s 117 were the key highlight of the innings. To add a cherry on the cake, Ravindra Jadeja came at the end to knock a furious fifty.

Now at this time, Australia was behind by 152 runs. They have to chase the lead and needed to give a target for the Indian boys. Well, it was pretty sure that Australia had huge chances to lose the match by an inning.

But Peter Handscomb and Shaun Marsh performed well under pressure to take out team Australia safely to the other end resulting in a draw.

Let us see which of the either team grabs the last Test to win the series!!!
