The Florida Gators and Kentucky Wildcats won’t have to wait much longer to learn the future of their top remaining offensive line targets.
George Brown Jr. has had his commitment date set for July 25th, and today is the day we learn where he will be attending college.
Brown had previously narrowed his list down to eight schools: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech. He’s since cut Missouri, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech out of his list, but it’s been believed UK and UK were the two finalists for a while now.
The Wildcats have been viewed as the heavy favorites for some time now. Brown spoke highly of UK and the coaching staff in an interview with Rivals.com’s Josh Hemholdt.
“Kentucky is up there,” Brown said. “I like them a lot, have a good relationship with Coach (Mark) Stoops, Coach (Vince) Marrow and Coach (John) Schlarman and also a lot of the players that are up there already.”
Here is a bit of ESPN’s evaluation of him:
Big and athletic. Demonstrates good burst and explosion off the ball. Displays very good playing strength. Has a lengthy frame with long arms that appears to be capable of supporting additional bulk. Has good quickness at the line of scrimmage. Finishes blocks with a high motor.
