Jon Toth

Redshirt sophomore center Jon Toth has been named the Southeastern Conference’s Offensive Lineman of the Week after an impressive performance in Kentucky 59-14 rout of UT-Martin.

Toth, who is in his second year as a starter, helped paved the way for 234 rushing yards in the Cats’ opener.

Just a sophomore, he is already establishing himself as one of the best centers in the SEC, and is currently considered to be the sixth-best center nationally in his NFL draft class.

Following is the official release from the SEC:

Jon Toth, C, Kentucky

• Graded at 91 percent in UK’s 59-14 win over UT Martin.
• Had no penalties or missed assignments and did not allow a quarterback sack.
• Credited with three knockdown blocks.
• Part of the UK attack that generated 656 yards total offense, the fourth-highest game in school history.

Patrick Towles also received some recognition after his breakout performance as he was named “Unsung Player of the Week” by Gene Chizik on the SEC Network.
